agreed…
significant review of newspapers throughout the country results in absolutely no mention of the SLQ change from Type 1 to Type 2 being because a public outcry against the bare breast of Liberty. It was a theory invented by Walter Breen.
Research suggests the change–the covering of Libertys breast with chainmail–was to signify the nation’s growing involvement with European affairs and to symbolize the nation’s preparation for war.
Aww, that wedding present was cute…. What I wouldn’t give to find a woman who collected coins….
That coin should be in the $350-$400 range. It is a VG-8. Good luck in your aquisition. If I was able to go back in time, I might spend the $600-$700 on a F-12 example though.
If I wanted to pick up an early quarter similar to your 1806, how much would I expect to pay at a coin show? I would like a PCGS certified.
